Nick Cason Named Herzog Foundation Teacher of the Year

DACULA, Ga. — Hebron Christian Academy is proud to announce that Nick Cason of Lions Learning Academy has been named one of the Herzog Foundation’s Christian Teachers of the Year, a prestigious national award granted annually to 12 outstanding Christian educators. The Foundation selects winners from a pool of worthy nominees based on their demonstration of excellence in the classroom, the respect of their peers and community, and alignment with the Herzog Foundation’s mission.

The Herzog Foundation’s mission is to “catalyze and accelerate the development of quality Christ-centered K-12 education so that families and culture flourish.” The Foundation honors Christian educators who cultivate the highest standard of Christian education within their spheres of influence.

Nick Cason has served at Lions Learning Academy for two years as the STEM and Physical Education instructor, spearheading a new program distinguished by innovation and creativity. From day one, Cason has approached teaching with a visionary mindset. Originally supporting students in the general education setting, he quickly became known for his ability to advocate for and empower learners of all abilities. His work has reimagined Christian education for students with disabilities by blending creativity, accessibility, and meaningful engagement. Constantly surrounded by adoring students, Cason demonstrates joy, energy, and Christ-centered leadership, qualities that inspired both his nomination and his selection for this esteemed award.

“He is a visionary, a creative, and an enthusiast,” said LLA Principal Cassie Snow. “He is using his gifts to architect a program that redefines what Christian education looks like for students with disabilities. He is the ‘adventure’ and ‘innovation’ of our school, a man who sees the individual needs of every student through the eyes of Christ.”

Lions Learning Academy is committed to providing first-of-its-kind access to excellent Christian education for students with cognitive and developmental disabilities, influenced by key leaders such as Nick Cason.
