HCA Officially Opens Its Doors to Lions Learning Academy
David Beall

DACULA, Ga. – Hebron Christian Academy is proud to announce the grand opening of its new special needs school, Lions Learning Academy, which held its first official day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 14. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in HCA’s ongoing commitment to providing inclusive, Christ-centered education for all students.

Lions Learning Academy (LLA) is a special needs program specifically designed to minister to students with cognitive and/or developmental disabilities. The school’s therapy-based education program fosters an environment where sensory needs, communication needs and therapeutic needs are built into the school day.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of Lions Learning Academy,” said Dr. James Taylor, Head of School at Hebron Christian Academy. “Our mission is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential, and this new school is a testament to that commitment. This bold approach is founded on the belief that every child is a precious creation of God, deserving of love, care and opportunities for personal development.”

In its inaugural year, LLA is currently serving students in kindergarten through third grade on HCA’s original campus on Old Peachtree Road, but the school has purchased a 13-acre parcel of land behind the current main campus with the God-Sized Dream of building a $20 million building to eventually serve 250 students. For parents of students with special needs, this therapy-based educational model will literally change their lives.

HCA strives to never take on new debt in an effort to keep education affordable; therefore, the $20 million necessary must be raised before the school can begin construction on this new facility. If you would like to speak with someone regarding funding for this project, please contact Karen Standridge, Director of Advancement, at karen.standridge@hebronlions.org.

Lions Learning Academy is still accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year. If you or someone you know might be interested in attending LLA, please fill out our inquiry form and someone will be in contact with you regarding the admissions process.
