HCA Announces Top Academic Honors for the Class of 2026

DACULA, Ga. – Hebron Christian Academy is pleased to recognize two students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and leadership, led by the valedictorian for the Class of 2026, Sophia Burnet, and the salutatorian, Sarah Mix.

Sophia Burnet has been a student at HCA since kindergarten and earned the honor of valedictorian after being named a National Merit Scholar Commended Student, an AP Scholar with Distinction, an AP Capstone Diploma recipient, and a Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient for the Class of 2026. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Additionally, she serves as a leader in Quiz Bowl, is a Senior Council member of the International Thespian Society, participates in Drama Productions, and is a member of the Debate Club.

Sophia plans to attend either Emory University, Duke University, or the Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall, where she intends to major in Biology on a Pre-Med track.

Sarah Mix has been a student at HCA for 10 years and earned the honor of salutatorian after being named the STAR Student, an AP Scholar with Distinction, an AP Capstone Diploma recipient, and a Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient for the Class of 2026. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Additionally, she is the founder and president of the French Club, president of the Debate Club, a member of the Mock Trial team, and a member of the Varsity Tennis team.

Sarah plans to attend either Duke University, Emory University, Vanderbilt University, or the Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall, where she intends to major in neuroscience and French.

“Congratulations to Sophia Burnet and Sarah Mix for earning the honor of valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, for the Class of 2026,” said HCA Head of School Dr. James Taylor. “Your dedication to academic excellence, leadership among your peers, and commitment to using your gifts for God’s glory exemplify the mission of Hebron Christian Academy. We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing how the Lord will use you in the years ahead.”

The valedictorian and salutatorian will be recognized and will speak at the Class of 2026 graduation ceremony, which will be held on Friday, May 15, at Hebron Church.
