DACULA, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Education recognized 162 graduating seniors across the state as 2026 Georgia Scholars, with Hebron Christian Academy senior Dalton Harris among those honored by State School Superintendent Richard Woods.

Through the Georgia Scholar program, the GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in both school and community life. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma along with a graduation cord to recognize their achievement. Hebron Christian Academy was one of eight private schools in the state with a recipient.

This fall, Dalton Harris will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Zell Miller Scholarship recipient, where he will major in Biology. Throughout his high school career, Dalton has distinguished himself academically as a Top Ten Student (2023–2025) and has earned numerous prestigious honors, including the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, the College Board National Recognition Award, and the 2025 Georgia Certificate of Merit.

At Hebron, Dalton has demonstrated strong leadership and service through his involvement in Student Government and Student Life, as well as his roles as a Student Ambassador and Junior Marshal. He will graduate with distinction as a member of the National Honor Society and as a Mu Alpha Theta Medallion recipient.

"Congratulations to the 162 students recognized as Georgia Scholars this year," Superintendent Woods said. "These students exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I'm proud to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue making a positive difference in their communities and beyond."

Georgia Scholars carry exemplary course loads throughout their four years of high school, demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve as leaders in extracurricular and service organizations.
