PREVIEW: 2023 Softball Season

DACULA, Ga.- The Hebron Christian Academy softball team returns to play after going 1-1 on the weekend with a win over Commerce 10-2 and loss to Seckinger 2-1.

The Lions will face two familiar foes this week with a game against Duluth High School on Tuesday, August 7 and George Walton on Thursday, August 10. Tuesday's game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday's game is slated for 4:45 p.m.

The Lions concluded the 2022-23 season with a 18-13 overall and 8-4 regional record and made it to the State Sectionals. 

Two key players for the Lions will be seniors Morgan Smith and Sydney Samples. The rest of the Lion roster is composed of two juniors, four sophomores, and four newcomers to add to their team this season.

In the regional standings, the Lions are ranked one of the top schools in 3A along with Hart County and Monroe Area.

Brittany Lewis is the head coach of the HCA varsity softball team and she is in her second year at Hebron. 

"This season we are looking to continue to build our program into a top contender in 3A. With this being my second year, I feel the athletes are now accustomed to the expectations and standards in the program and are ready to train and perform at a high level," commented Lewis.
