MADISON, Ga.- The Hebron varsity football team fell to Morgan County 26-14 on Friday night. The Bulldogs improve to 2-2 while the Lions drop to 3-1 on the season.
In the first quarter, the Lions got on the board first with a touchdown pass from Thomas Stallworth to Gerritt Kemp to put the Lions up 7-0.
Morgan County returned the favor with a passing touchdown from Talan Fuller to Elder Antavious with four minutes left in the first.
The Bulldogs would regain the lead 13-7 heading into halftime with a rushing touchdown. At the start of the third quarter, Morgan County would increase their lead to 19-7 with 10 minutes left. The Lion defense held Morgan County to 290 yards of offense.
The Lions found a way to score with a rushing touchdown by Devon Caldwell as HCA was only down 19-13 with four minutes left in the third quarter. Caldwell has seven touchdowns on the season for the Lions.
In the fourth quarter, the Lions had great possessions, but could not convert. HCA recorded 274 yards of total offense on the day, but it was not enough to upend the Bulldogs.
Gerritt Kemp had quite a game for the Lions as he had three tackles, and one interception. Offensively, Kemp had three catches for 98 yards and one touchdown.
