Beckham Hits 1000 Career Points Against No. 1 Long Island Lutheran

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Aubrey Beckham hit her 1000th career point against No. 1 Long Island Lutheran on Tuesday afternoon. The junior put up 23 points, five rebounds, and seven assists against the Crusaders even though LUHI won the game by eight points 61-54.

Beckham is the ninth player in program history and sixth under head coach Jan Azar who has achieved this milestone. She joins Jessie Parish (2022), Malia Fisher (2021), Nicole Azar (2021), Carly Fahey (2021), Hannah Lentz (2015), Meredith Montgomery (2007), and Rebecca Cohen (2005). 

Mia James recored 14 points with Danielle Ocho and Jakerra Butler accounting for seven and four points each, respectively. The Lions move to 9-1 while the Crusaders improve to undefeated 8-0. Long Island Lutheran will play Bishop McNamara in the next round of the Nike Tournament of Champions. 

"I am really proud of how Aubrey played today, she put up big points for us and showed how diverse of a player she really is. She really stepped up her game against the No. 1 team in the country and her getting her 1000th point was a bonus," said Jan Azar.
