DACULA, Ga. - The Hebron Christian Academy football team wrapped spring ball Saturday evening in dominant fashion, hosting Flowery Branch for a scrimmage and knocking off the Falcons 54-27 at Burlingame Field.

In a game the Lions never trailed, quarterback Gavin Hall led the charge in the first half, scoring three rushing touchdowns to send HCA out to a 21-13 lead at halftime.

The Falcons came out after the intermission and quickly cut the HCA lead to 21-19 after a missed two-point conversion failed to tie the game. The two teams traded scores late in the third frame and this time a two-point conversion from Flowery Branch was successful and tied the game at 27-27 with 1:36 left in the third quarter.

The next 96 seconds proved to be the difference as HCA reeled off 21 unanswered points to take a 48-27 lead into the final frame. Rising ninth grader Devon Caldwell showcased his speed and raced away for two long touchdowns, and the defense came up big, forcing two turnovers, including a pick six from rising junior Drew Faucher to extend the lead.

The Lions tacked on a late touchdown and cruised to a 54-27 victory to cap the spring season.

HCA now turns its attention to summer workouts, before opening the fall campaign Aug. 12 with a scrimmage against Loganville Christian Academy at Burlingame Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
