Drama

The Dramatic Arts Program at Hebron Christian Academy provides opportunities for students to learn and express themselves through theater.

Whether in a drama class or participating in a drama production, students will have opportunities to grow and develop skills in acting, leadership, lighting and sound technology, backstage management, set design and construction, musical production, choreography, and teamwork.

For middle school students, we offer two classes: drama and music theater. The drama class is a semester-long course and serves as an introduction into theatrical arts. Students in this class will have the opportunity to perform in the ensemble for the spring middle school musical. The music theater class is a year-long course and serves as the rehearsals for the spring middle school musical. Students in this class will have the opportunity to audition for lead and supporting roles in the production.

For high school students, we offer a year-long drama class. In this class, students develop acting skills through various projects and activities. They also have opportunities to write and perform original material, perform a one act play, and provide production support for the middle school and high school productions.

All high school students have the opportunity to audition for the high school fall and spring productions. These productions are rehearsed during “after-school” hours. Students do not have to be in the high school drama class to participate in these productions. Auditions for the high school fall production are typically held after school during the first full week of school in August. Auditions for the high school spring productions are typically held after school during the second week of December, before the week of first semester exams.

In all our productions, we strive to honor Jesus with our actions and words. We believe the greatest expression of our artistic and theatrical talents is to radiate God’s love to all.
