The Hebron Dance Program exists to teach dance as a medium to share the Gospel, worship our Creator, allow creativity and expression, and promote self- discipline.
This course is designed to introduce students to the artform of dance by highlighting three main styles: ballet, contemporary, and jazz. Ballet will be studied as a foundational component of a dancer’s technique. Students will be introduced to the extensive vocabulary and elements of ballet history, using the principles of the Cecchetti school of ballet as a guide. Contemporary and modern dance will be explored, focusing on the freedom of expression it presents the dancer as she shares with the audience. Finally, students will participate in jazz coursework and combinations. The ultimate goal of this class is to glorify the Lord as we worship Him with dance.
“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.” Psalm 30:11
HCA provides a Christ-centered learning community that challenges students to realize their greatest potential for transforming their world and impacting their culture.
