HCA Choral Department

The ultimate goal of the HCA Choral Department is to instill a love of music in students and to glorify God using the talents and abilities He has given. We seek to develop musicianship through ensemble performance, sight-reading, and basic music theory practice. Our middle and high school choruses perform throughout the year, on and off the HCA campus. In addition to their own concerts, the choruses participate in community events and Georgia Music Educators Association events such as District 13 Honor Chorus, All State Chorus, and Large Group Performance Evaluation.

Upper School Chorus Opportunities

  • Middle School Chorus

This ensemble is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade singers. The purpose is to build on the fundamentals of singing and musical concepts such as music theory and sight-reading.
  • High School Mixed Chorus

The mixed chorus is offered to all high school singers. It allows them the freedom to perform a wide variety of 3 and 4-part repertoire in several concerts throughout the year. They have the opportunity to build on the foundation set in middle school to further develop their musical and performance skills.
  • AP Music Theory

This course is offered to students who wish to expand their musical knowledge and earn credit for a college level course.
HCA provides a Christ-centered learning community that challenges students to realize their greatest potential for transforming their world and impacting their culture.
