GOD-SIZED DREAMS
Hebron christian academy's strategic plan | 2021 - 2026
I PRAY THAT YOU, BEING ROOTED AND ESTABLISHED IN LOVE, MAY HAVE POWER, TOGETHER WITH ALL THE LORD’S HOLY PEOPLE, TO GRASP HOW WIDE AND LONG AND HIGH AND DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST, AND TO KNOW THIS LOVE THAT SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE — THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD. NOW TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DO IMMEASURABLY MORE THAN ALL WE ASK OR IMAGINE, ACCORDING TO HIS POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US, TO HIM BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH AND IN CHRIST JESUS THROUGHOUT ALL GENERATIONS, FOR EVER AND EVER.

A Letter From our Head of School - Dr. James E. Taylor
Dear Hebron families, alumni, and friends,
God-Sized Dreams. Have you ever been a part of accomplishing a goal so audacious, so grandiose, so extraordinary, that we can only attribute its success to a loving God? Most of us ask for God’s blessing on our own labor, but rarely, if ever, have we attempted a task so enormous that it can only be fulfilled by the Spirit of God moving powerfully in the hearts of His people. In this next chapter of Hebron Christian Academy’s (HCA) story, we desire to live and lead in this counter-cultural fashion. We are calling this mindset: “living with a spirit of anticipation.” By striving to live in alignment with God, we want to anticipate His active hand in everything we do. Whether this is developing a cutting-edge “Academies Model” for our High School, implementing one-to-one technology for all students K4-12, designing a student-discipleship program that challenges every student toward a vibrant relationship with Christ, or beginning a brand-new school for students with special academic needs, we desire to live with anticipation that God will be right there in the middle of everything we do. This means intentionally pursuing excellence in every facet of the educational process. This also means thinking big, God-Sized Dreams about both HCA campuses and God’s long-term mission for our school community.
This is where we prayerfully hope you and your family will be called by God to enter the equation. We need families who will radically partner with us as we seek to discover God’s will for our school. We need faithful prayer partners, and we need faithful prayer partners who will also give generously to the needs outlined in this strategic plan.
Since 1999, HCA has increased its impact on our region both academically and spiritually. We seek to be the premier, unabashedly Christian school, holding to the central tenets of our faith while providing a rigorous and cutting-edge education. Our goal is to develop young men and women with a deliberate Christian worldview to provide authentic Christian leadership to a world in need.
In this Strategic Plan we will explore the following:
- Frontage Project (Completed)
- An eight-room expansion to our Lower School campus (Completed)
- The formation of an Academy Model for our High School (Completed)
- One-to-one computer technology for all students (Completed)
- STEM Center and Enrichment Center Renovation (Completed)
- A new Fine Arts Theatre and an expansion to current Cafeteria (Under Construction)
- The construction of a state-of-the-art Field House
- The proposal of a new school ministering to students with special needs
- The building of an HCA Student Center
- Expanded STEM course work for all grade levels
I have never been more excited about Christian education. God is already working powerfully right here at HCA. Please prayerfully consider joining us in accomplishing God-Sized Dreams.
Living with a spirit of anticipation,
Dr. James E. Taylor, Head of School
Completed Projects
Frontage Project
$200,000
The frontage project was the very first project in this 5-Year plan. By adding architecturally beautiful stone entrances, metal fences with stone columns the length of our campus on Dacula Road, and a vehicle actuated gate at each end of campus, we were able to unite the appearance of our school. We strongly believe that God deserves our best, and our new entrance makes a powerful statement about the quality and steadfastness of the education our children receive at Hebron Christian Academy. This project has been completed and was fully funded.
1-to-1 Technology
$1,000,000
In each of our lives, God provides areas of giftedness and areas of personal passion. Our dream for each of our HCA students is to provide them an opportunity to fuse their giftedness and their personal passions for a future career that is God-honoring and in the center of His will. One essential tool in this process is cutting-edge technology. Technology is a mandatory component of virtually every career path, so providing our students an advantage in this arena is critical to their pursuit of God-Sized Dreams. This enormous investment provided interactive boards in every classroom, the necessary infrastructure for current needs and future growth, and personal laptop devices for every single student from K4 through 12. This project has been completed and was fully funded.
STEM Center
$375,000
The STEM Center for Innovation is a 2,700 square-foot facility that opened in the fall of 2021 and transformed how students learn at HCA. Under the leadership of Dr. Brad Christensen, the facility features workbenches, tools, and materials for students to design and build a wide variety of projects. STEM is commonly used as an acronym for careers that utilize science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with “STEM education” as a list of classes that prepare students for careers in those fields. At Hebron Christian Academy, STEM is an educational philosophy with corresponding pedagogy. STEM is a synergistic combination of related academic disciplines leading to a greater depth of understanding of concepts and their applications.
Enrichment Center
$125,000
The Enrichment Center is a 2,453 square-foot facility that opened in the fall of 2021. The completion of the Enrichment Center created space for student accommodations by providing quiet space for testing, extended time for tests, read aloud support, classroom tests and quizzes, and assistive technology. Our Enrichment Services include access to our Enrichment Center, Enrichment electives/courses, and provision of accommodations. Our Enrichment team works with families to build a learning plan that addresses each student’s learning profile, with the intent on leveling the playing field so students can flourish in a demanding academic environment by showing what they know, understand, and are able to do.
LS Expansion
$2.8 Million
Investing in the next generation is a mission we take very seriously at HCA. In our pursuit of fulfilling this mission, we quickly realized that our beautiful, new Lower School was just not big enough to accommodate God’s growing blessings. This recognition prompted us to begin the process of adding eight new classrooms and an expanded cafeteria, which opened in the fall of 2021. Along with the new building, an imagination-inducing new playground was added, creating more space for our Lower School students play outside.
Projects Under Construction
$5.8 Million
Expected to open in the fall of 2022, the new, state-of-the-art dining hall and theatre/auditorium is a 16,000 square-foot expansion to our current F building. The structure will house a new dining hall that seats 575 students, along with a fixed seat auditorium that will accommodate 475 students and be the primary theatre for our fine arts program. The facility will also serve as the hub for our chapel services and be the epicenter for our growing campus.
Future Projects
Athletic Field House
Our current weight room and training space is woefully inadequate for the increased size of our school, and the remarkable level of participation in our athletic program. Our intention is to add an approximately 18,000 square-foot building that would include a full indoor football field and a new weight room, complete with sprint areas roughly six times the size of our current space. The first floor will provide equipment storage/repair, and a full student-athlete performance area for athletic trainers to work with the health needs of athletes in training and recovery. The second floor will house film review and large group meeting spaces for all sports teams to review film and strategize for upcoming competitions. This large space will also be utilized at home football, soccer, lacrosse, and flag football games to provide entertainment space for parents and alumni. The project completion date is entirely contingent upon generous donors and successful grant writing, but we are praying to have this facility operational during the 2024-25 school year.
Lions Learning Academy
It is humbling to watch God work in our midst in powerful ways. The idea for a Christian special needs academy began through much personal prayer by several HCA teachers and families. Unbeknownst to everyone praying separately, God was linking the hearts of many with the same vision for this new ministry opportunity. It has been amazing to have so many people step forward within a short time with the exact same direction from God. We know this project is a God-directed project to expand our ministry impact. We are eager to provide a truly Christian education to students with special needs in the near future. Providing this level of student and family support to families in need of educational, personal, and spiritual refreshment will be honoring to the Lord. The project completion date is entirely contingent upon generous donors and successful grant writing, but we are praying to have this facility operational during the 2024-25 school year.
Student Center
Just imagine driving through our beautiful stone entrances with the Lower School building on your right, and the new Hebron Lions Student Center on your left. This center would provide large, cutting-edge study areas for all students with comfortable furniture to relax and learn. We would move our school store to this new location, and more than double the size to provide more products and convenience for our families. We will also construct a coffee shop at the back of the Student Center to be used by students and Hebron families throughout the day, and during after school sporting events. Imagine our Moms in Prayer groups meeting in this coffee shop to pray for our school. In addition, we will relocate the admissions and finance offices to this new location so all new Hebron Lions will have the opportunity to meet and greet our growing community. This dream project will either be the last project of this five-year sequence, or the first project in our next five-year plan. We are simply trusting in God with these God-Sized Dreams!
