Letter from Board of Directors

Dear HCA Parents,
Every year in December, the HCA Board of Directors and HCA Administration are challenged with evaluating the school’s budget, and determining what adjustments need to be made in order to meet the needs of the school for the following year. This is the time when tuition increases are discussed and decided on, in order to announce the increase in January so that parents have time to prepare for reenrollment. The discussion was complicated this year as a result of the school needing to address facility issues, and the school administration, along with the board, came to the conclusion that a building campaign alone would not address those needs in a reasonable time frame. For this reason, the Board has decided it is necessary for HCA to secure financing for the construction of new Elementary and Middle School buildings to be located on what is now the Middle and High School campus.
These decisions were not taken lightly, as the Board understands the financial commitment and sacrifice that parents make in order to enroll their children at HCA. The decision to take on debt to finance the construction of these buildings was deliberated and determined to be the best option for the school. The decision to increase tuition was prayed over with sensitivity to the fact that any increase can create an additional financial challenge, especially for families with multiple children enrolled at HCA. The HCA Board and HCA Administration were pleased to find that, after investigating fees of comparable private Christian schools in the metro Atlanta area, HCA is still the greatest value for a Christian education in the market. After consideration of the various issues, the Board concluded that the course of action detailed in this letter was the best option for the school to promote HCA’s continuous objective of going “From Good to Great”.
A breakdown of the tuition for the 2016/2017 school year is detailed below:

We will be hosting an informational meeting to address any questions or concerns regarding these decisions on Thursday, February 11th, at 7:00 PM in the High School Cafetorium, where individuals representing the HCA Board, HCA Administration, Site Plan Committee, and Building Committee will be available to take your questions.
We believe that these are exciting times for HCA, and the decisions made to improve our campus will position our school for great things in the future.
