Let’s keep our minds sharp and energized this summer with reading! We hope you will encourage your child to complete the Summer Reading BINGO chart created for his/her grade level.
Directions: Print out the grade appropriate Summer Reading BINGO sheet. Students must complete TWO ROWS of five square BINGO — horizontally, vertically, and/or diagonally.

Each book you read can only COUNT ONCE on your paper. Each square is its own independent reading event — nothing overlaps. When a square’s activity is completed, an adult must initial the square. When TEN SQUARES have been initialed, an adult needs to sign the paper. You may turn it in to your homeroom teacher at Open House/Orientation on August 9th, or on the first two days of school (August 10th and 11th).
We ask that you select “good fit” books for the activities — books on or near your child’s current reading level. To determine the reading level of thousands of books, go to this helpful site: https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/bookwizard/
Within the site, in the top right corner, go to READING LEVEL and select “Guided Reading Level” to see the Fountas and Pinnell level of thousands of books.
